I’m having a hard time remembering to blog on this trip since I’m with people and staying busy. It’s quite different than travelling on my own like I’m used to.

On Tuesday we hiked Mont Xalibu, an 11km hike known for its views. We had to take a dirt road off into the middle of nowhere for this trail. It started off really wide and well groomed, leading to a lake at the base of some mountains. Lacs d’américains looked really beautiful and had a lot of fish.

We continued up and up and up from there. It wasn’t as hard as Mont Albert but we were still sore from the day before.

There were definitely some good views and Kat even contemplated quitting a little early since the views were so good. She didn’t believe they’d get any better. The last 1km was pretty much straight uphill.

I think that the hike was worth it for the view up top. It was a lot windier than the top of Mont Albert so we sat in some of the rock cairns for lunch.

Shane and Kat were trying to get a good shot of Thor for me and struggling. Another guy came over from another cairn and helped them rig it up. This is why I enjoy travelling with him so much. He’s a great conversation starter to have.

On the way down I fell pretty hard, definitely going to have some bruises from that. The rocks are hard to walk on, I find a lot of them just slide around.

We made it down in good time and went back to the campsite. We did laundry since we had a lot of wet stinky socks at this point. We decided to watch the sunset for real after having the sneak peek the day before. It got cold pretty quick so we retreated to a camp fire.
