Yesterday was the perfect day according to Shane. (Also if you like this post, you can thank him since I was driving and he wrote it for me.) After being startled out of sleep at 4:30 a.m. by someones car alarm, we fell back into sweet slumber until about 7:00. We decided on breakfast of eggs, spinach and sausage (veggie of course).

And then we hit the trail. Our first stop was Belvedere Beaulieu. It's just a lookout point and it gave us nice views of the ocean.

Shane volunteer to drive here and I was glad for a little break. It was a bit of a challenge at first because it was his first time driving a stick for a 20 years and he was driving on the wrong side of the road but we made it and one piece. We made our way to the BIC national park, one of the sepaq parks on my list.

Our main objectives were to see the seals at this location I do the big hike. Unfortunately on arrival, we were told that we were not able to do the big hike because accessibility is dependent on the tides of the window had already passed. We decided to do a random trail instead and we were pleasantly surprised. The park is incredibly beautiful with a lot some Wild roses everywhere and a dramatic view of the coast. The fog rolling in made it look like something from out of a movie and the tide was still low at the time so we were able to venture out a bit and look for crabs and other sea life.

The hiking trail we chose took us to more dramatic viewpoints. It was truly awe inspiring.

Time was quickly getting away from us though, and we decided to leave to try to find the seals before the high tide came in. There was a lookout we were told we had to see, but ultimately disappointed. There were no seals to be found. Hopefully, we will get to see them in the Forillon park where we have reserved kayaking with the seals.

After leaving the BIC national park, we still had plenty of daylight left so we went in search of micro-breweries in order to try local beers with dinner. We found a couple and then decided to check out this random art installation since we still had some time.

Then we returned to the campsite set up our tent and started to prepare dinner. The menu consisted of jambalaya rice and zucchini, spider dogs and s'mores.

While the rice was cooking, Kat and I went to find the mini farm we were told was at the campground. There were rabbits, goats and donkeys but we were disappointed however, since these animals were behind a fence. We ended up picking a bouquet of flowers for Shane, slugs and all.

It was a wonderful ending to a wonderful day.

Tomorrow, the weather forecast isn't so great but we hope to descend into the gates of hell.
