Whether you're preparing for the trip of a lifetime, backpacking with friends, or just on a short vacation, read this budget breakdown to plan for your trip to the United Arab Emirates.
6 Days
1 City Stayed in
307CAD per day
*Please note all costs are the total for two adults and one baby.
Transportation:Â 774CAD
The biggest transportation costs here was our flights from India, being just over 600CAD alone. Our inner city transportation costs were relatively affordable as we relied on public transit as much as possible. That being said, if you take Uber or a taxi here expect to pay similar rates to North America.
Food & Drinks: 229CAD
I was pleasantly surprised at the affordability of food in Dubai, our most expensive meal was breakfast at the iconic Arabian Tea House which was still only 40CAD. Our hotel had breakfast included and we did a lot of take out for dinner after Kymani went to bed.
Accommodations:Â 668CAD
Finding affordable accommodation in Dubai was easily the hardest part of planning our stay. Everything is catered to luxury here and you will have a hard time find a "budget hotel". We picked a more affordable one away from the popular tourist areas, but still near a metro station to reduce costs.
Attractions & Activities:Â 151CAD
We originally expected to spend more on activities here, wanting a day trip to Abu Dhabi and to visit the Burj Khalifa. However, once we arrived and looked more into the logistics of these activities we decided they weren't worth the cost for us.
Extras:Â 24CAD
Our extras included traditional headscarves for Shane - they are excellent and keeping the sun off your face, and of course a keychain for Victoria's collection.
