Whether you're preparing for the trip of a lifetime, backpacking with friends, or just on a short vacation, read this budget breakdown to plan for your trip to the Philippines.
10 Days
4 Cities Stayed in
(Cebu, Moalboal, Oslob, Manila)
6 Cities Visited
(Bohol, Lapu Lapu)
202CAD per day
*Please note all costs are the total for two adults and one baby.
Transportation:Â 882CAD
As with many other countries we stayed in, flights were the most expensive part of our transportation, coming in close to 500CAD alone. We also had flights within the Philippines which were much lower costs. Beyond the flights, we found taking taxis and Grabs really affordable around the country. Instead of tuk tuks like many other SEA countries you'll find a variation called the tricycle. They're quite similar, being a covered seating area on a motorbike, but smaller.
Food & Drinks: 439CAD
We found food to be extremely affordable and accessible in the Philippines. I highly recommend you try seafood, especially in Moalboal, halo halo for dessert and pancit canton.
Accommodations:Â 474CAD
Travelling with a baby can mean accommodations are more expensive, since you're looking for privacy and safety. However, you'll find many affordable places here, rarely paying over 50CAD a night.
Attractions & Activities:Â 191CAD
We did not miss out on any activities in the Philippines, from swimming with whale sharks to river cruises and visiting a tarsier sanctuary. We found entrance costs and tour fees very affordable. swimming with the whale sharks was actually only about 25CAD so we did it twice!
Extras:Â 32CAD
Our extra fees here were a few souvenirs as well as SIM cards - dirt cheap at 7/11, and diapers for Kymani. We found it a lot harder to find accommodations with washers when we got to the smaller island countries.
